Chair maker, teacher, and designer Jeff Lefkowitz designed this shave horse with the intention of making it more accessible, low—cost, and easy to build. The design uses easy-to-source materials and can be built completely with hand tools and a power drill (or power tools if you have them) by someone with limited experience using Jeff's full-size plans and detailed, step-by-step build manual. This shave horse works for most people and has an option to customize it if you are very tall. It uses a Boggs-inspired ratchet adjustment mechanism and can be broken down for storage or travel.

Our kits use a hard maple that is unselected for color, meaning not all white and may have minor non-structural characteristics like small knots, etc. The kit includes a cherry seat that is rough-carved on the CNC, ready to sand or scrape.
