Chair maker, teacher, and designer Jeff Lefkowitz designed this shave horse with the intention of making it more accessible — low cost and easy to build. The design uses easy to source materials and can be built completely with hand tools and a power drill (or power tools if you have them) by someone with limited experience using Jeff's full size plans and detailed, step-by-step build manual. This shave horse works for most people and has an option to customize it if you are very tall. It uses a Boggs-inspired ratchet adjustment mechanism and can be broken down for storage or travel.

Our kits and material packs use a premium-grade kiln-dried Southern yellow pine, which is much nicer than that available at a home center. 
 
The kits and plans use a flat seat. We also have a pre-carved, upgraded seat in hardwood available HERE

The Pine Kit with all the parts cut out of premium Southern yellow pine includes everything you need to build the shave horse with only minor shaping and assembly using Jeff's build manual. 
The Material Kit includes premium Southern yellow pine lumber milled smooth on all four sides and all the hardware needed to build the shave horse from scratch using Jeff's plans and build manual.
The Hardware Pack includes all the metal hardware and leather needed to build the shave horse using your own lumber.
The Leather Parts are simply pre-cut leather for the jaw padding for those using their own lumber and hardware.
